Default Left Head Light -'00

I rebuilt both headlight motors two years ago with brass gear, etc. The other night, when I turned the lights off, the left headlight cycled down, then came back up about a third of the way! I have tried several times to re-cycle, but it keeps returning to the partial up position! Any suggestions on resolving this issue??!!!

My '00 FRC did the same thing... What I discovered the problem to be was that the cover over the headlight's motor's gear had come loose and allowed the center shaft to slide sideways. This caused the lifting arm to bypass the stops on the headlight frame; kinda sucks, but easy fix, just pull the headlight assembly out again, and take a close look.
