Default Planning for the future

Recently picked up my first corvette, a 2003 SGM and I'm trying to figure out what direction I'd like to take her.

I had a LS1 trans am that was intake, exhaust and 4.10s. It pulled pretty hard but to be honest it was somewhat of a pain in the *** to be shifting all the time and to be rolling over 2500+ rpms on the highway. I suppose I could be persuaded to run gears that tall again though if it really was the best option...

This will be a DD car (at least for a while) and I'd like to preserve stock characteristics if possible and avoid huge cams that'll buck at low speeds. Currently has vararam and borla as far as mods.

I'm looking for a power level that can be contained and planted fairly well to the ground. Wheel sizes are 19/18 so I have a lot of rubber to work with...

I'm thinking headers are the most obvious mod, followed possibly by a moderate cam and some ls2 heads? Going FI seems like it would be more trouble than it's worth on the street and I'd be spinning all the time but I could be wrong!

As far as goals, I'd love to be running with the C6s or even C6Zs if that's possible without having to sacrifice much.

Thanks

Dudeness there are tons of ways you can go with your car. How much do you have to spend? or willing to spend? IMO If you want to roll with a C6Z you have better be in the 600hp range minimum IMO. To achieve that you will need a large CI built H/C/I motor or you can slap a FI sytem on your 346 be it turbo/sc and go from there. I have just under 600hp with a D1 with suporting mods and I daily drive my car with no issues get great MPG and have no issues putting the power to the ground with the right tires(305/30/19 R888's) and the right clutch. Do a search you can get more info on this exact topic

Out of those options I'd probably go FI. I like the A&A kits so I think that's the direction I may take. I was just somewhat concerned with trying to hook up on the street but I'll check into the tires you recommended. Are you running those up front as well or have you matched them with something else?

As far as budget, i'm not really setting a limit. If it costs more I'll wait longer .

I absolutely love it and feel so fortunate to have my dream car so young (I'm 25).

Between the big *** chrome z06 wheels and the color, I get compliments on a near daily basis . I'm sure it helps that I keep the car immaculate inside and out unless I happen to get caught in some brief weather...
