Hi, I am in the market for a frc, and came across a 1999 torch
red frc for sale, and the owner told me that his car came originally with a 402 engine? Is that correct? I thought they all had come with the ls1 engine 346. I guess he said that his car was built later in the year and it came equipped with a faster engine than the regular ones. If someone has an answer for this, that would be great.
hey thanks alot, I knew it was kind of fishy, car is nice but ac compressor does not work, driver headlight is lagging it, and shift *** and boot looks pretty tore up. Ive owned two previous ws6's and now looking into a c5 and did not know the history of the cars. I do appreciate everybody's answers.
5.7 Litre, LS1, 6 speed only, 345 HP, boosted to 350 HP in 2000. LS6 didn't show up until 2001 when the FRC emerged as the Z06 with 385 HP moved to 405 HP in 2002. FRC made only in 1999 and 2000, body style used in 2001 - 2004 Z06s. The guy is full of it unless it's an aftermarket engine, but it's not stock. I have a 1999 FRC.
