I have a 2002 M6 coupe that is bone stock with almost 51k miles. I drove the car from just north of Houston to Dallas on Saturday with no problems. I parked the car for almost 3 hours and when I got back in to go to the store the check engine light came on. I drove the car home today with no problems, but the light will not go off. Any suggestions for this problem?
The ability to pull the codes on the C-5 is a very important tool. The short verion is push and hold the fuel button, then push the options button 4 or 5 times within like 5 seconds or so. From there it will automatically cycle through the major systems. You can stop it and again, using the buttons, you can get to individual codes and clear them with the reset button. The E/M button exits the diagnostic.

Note codes, reset at DIC, if that doesn't do it disconnect negative terminal of battery then reconnect after a few minutes. If light is still on, recheck codes and go from there.
I was looking under the hood today and noticed the air intake had come off the throttle body. Is is possible that could have been the cause of the check engine light coming on?

probably. and it's probably a code related to the MAF sensor.
