I thought the brakes were different as well. Everything I've read says that the z06 brake pads have a better and more aggressive initial bite and resist brake fade better. Then they were slightly better in 02+ than the 01 models.

This is one of the changes I noticed the most in going from my 99 FRC to my 01 z06.

the pads are different, the rest of the brake system is identical.
fuel pump and filter were relocated in 2003, I believe.

not aware of any clutch differences.

If you're going to be modding to that extent, just get a coupe (or an FRC if you like the bodystyle and want a little less weight). Put the money you save into mods, because you're just going to be replacing most of the Z06-specific parts anyway. They are the same cars, same design, just mildly improved parts in the suspension and drivetrain.

same on all C5s. don't quote me on this, but I think the change happened early in the model year. I have a november build and I have the newer location. there could be some 03s with older design.

older design has the fuel filter located on the frame rail, newer design has the filter in the tank. if you can find and access your fuel filter without getting to the tank, you have an older system.
