I am new to these forums and was looking around the site although I did not end up getting any info (in which I probably missed while browsing) but I was curious as to what the aux function on the 02 vette radio was for and is there was a way to connect a line into it possibly through the back. Anyone with more info feel free to post and knowledge on the subject.
thanks
Joe
Are you referring to the aux button on the stock radio/CD? If so this is a lift from the handbook:
CD AUX (Auxiliary): Press this button to change to playing a CD when listening to the radio. CD will
appear on the display when the disc is in the player, whether it is active or not. If your system is equipped
with a remote playback device, pressing this button a second time will allow the remote device to play.
Or, do you mean hooking up to an aux port? I've replaced my stock radio with after market but I have an Ipod hooked up to my aux port using the appropriate leads.
both perhaps weather or not the stock radio had an aux port maybe in the back but what the button was initally used for as well so very useful info and I appreciate the reply
The stock radio on my '01 did not have an AUX port. However, you can add one with an aftermarket harness. I did this and it works great for my MP3 player. You hook up the MP3 to the radio using a sterio wire. I think I payed about $100 for the harness.

there is an adapter that connects to the cd changer wiring that will turn that connector into a regular aux connector that you can run anything through or an ipod..and the controls on the factor deck will control the ipod. it's pretty cool... i'd have to google it to find it though
do you lose the ability to use the changer when you replace that harness? how difficult is it to remove the factory deck? any special tools required? mine's an '03 with cd changer and i would love to install an ipod hookup and maintain all other normal functions. thanks much.

pretty certain you lose control of the factory changer.
