Default 2000 LS1 cam specs

I have seen different information in various threads posted regarding the cam specs for the 2000 LS1. I have one parts sheets (of which I do not remember where I got it) that shows only the 2000 model year with a 500/500 lift/ 115.5 LSA cam. The years before and after have less lift.

Anyone have any definitve information on the subject.

Thanks.
Bill

I did lots of searching when I R&Rd the engine in my 2000 also with a 99 F-body engine and found the same info. I also measured the cams out of both and checked the cam part numbers and found that the f-body cam was the same specs as the listed Corvettes for that year with .479 lift. I wound up going with the F-body cam and can't feel any difference in power. The cams are all so close in size that I think you will not be able to tell a seat of the pants difference.

C5 camshafts:
'97-'99 LS1 .479/.472 lift, 207/199 duration, 117 Lobe Separation Angle
'00 LS1 .500/.500 lift, 209/198 duration, 115.5 LSA
'01-04 LS1 .479/.467 lift, 207/196 duration, 116 LSA
'01 LS6 .525/.525 lift, 211/204 duration, 116 LSA
'02-04 LS6 .551/.555 lift, 218/204 duration, 117.5 LSA

2000 camshaft was given more lift and duration to compensate for the inclusion of pre/pup cats on California and north eastern United States sold vettes to comply with emissions requirements. All '00 LS1s got the larger camshafts, but only those sold for delivery in California or north eastern USA, got the hp robbing pre/pup cats installed. This means the non-pre/pup cat '00 C5s got some "free" additional hp!...maybe 5hp?

"01 LS1s, got the larger volume LS6 intake manifold, and better flowing, but heavier cast iron exhaust manifolds, larger MAF, and better flowing air intake box, but were then equipped with the same pre/pup cats the '00 California and NE USA sold cars got, as well as the smaller camshaft, similar to that of the 97-99 LS1. All of these changes combined for a net increase of 5hp, and 10 lbs.(auto) and 25 lbs. (manual) of torque.

This is the info I came up with when I did the research and actually measured my 2000 C5 cam and a 99 F-body cam that came in an engine I bought to replace mine with.
