Oil pressure gauge

Oil pressure gauge
I bought my 2000 C-5 just a few months ago. Recently I had serviced. After having oil changed, the oil pressure gauge shows 80. Worked fine before oil change. I'm assuming that if the gauge has quit working, the needle would not move at all. From information I have read, it is a common problem for the gauge to quit working, and it's not an easy task to change. Need some input.

You may find this helpful as well:

When the gauge fails it will normally read max pressure.

The site that Mark C5 forwarded was very helpful. Thank you.
Following that information is a comnent from Corvette Tech about
making a hole in the plastic for easier access. If you do that, then where does the rainwater go? Anyone who has done this, is this a problem? -- I know, "don't drive your Vette in the rain"!! but sometimes that can't be avoided. Thanks for the input.

About the cutting a hole thing, don't do it. There is another post on here where some wires were cut and several more things went wrong doing that causing the manifold to have to come off any way, besides, who cuts up a Vette?
