I have a 99 FRC that the passenger 2 brake lights stopped working and also the hazard lights on the same side do not work. I have checked the bulbs and they are OK, also checked wires with brakes on and no power was there. I have read posts on this problem and it seems it might be the multi-function switch (turn signal etc.) or it could be the hazard switch. So what I was wondering is there some way to find out which one it could be? This forum is great for us DIY er's and I sure hope it will help on this problem. Thanks in advance.
NO, I suggest you cycle the hazard switch several times and see if they by chance start working. Usually this is the fault. Obviously you also need to look at all of the fuses too.

Ok, but the input from the brake switch that goes through the hazard switch is a single output from the hazard switch to both left & right brake lights. If the left brake lights work, doesn't that mean the hazard switch is ok, ,and the problem most likely lies with the M.F. switch?.....provided it's not a wiring issue.
I just was out cycling the hazard lights and discovered that the passenger side rear turn signal now is not working, so now the only lights that are working are the night time lights. I don't know if this changes anything or not.

Still goes through the multifunction switch. It's a pain in the ***, but you can check the resistance/continuity from pin B of the multifunction switch connector, and power on the light socket itself. That will tell you all the wiring from the multifunction switch connector to the right rear lights is good. You already know the input from the brake switch to the multifunction switch is good, because the left rear works. I'm also assuming that the right rear lights have a good ground...did you check?
Yes, lucky131969 is correct that the multifunction switch is involved. I suggested the hazard switch first as a more likely culprit, but if that doesn't do it, then its off to the multifunction switch.
I finally got around to replacing the multyi-functiion switch andthat did not do the trick so I guess I will try the hazard switch. If any body has any other suggestions I'm all ears.
