Default Maintenance

I have a 1998 C5 convertible with 60,000 miles.

I replaced the serpentine belts, flushed the engine coolant, flushed the power steering, flushed the transimission fluid and replaced the filter, and put in a new battery at 46,000 miles in July 2007.

When should I get the following items replaced/done? Any other maintenance items that are not on the list below?
  • Air Filter:
  • Fuel Filter:
  • Engine Coolant flush:
  • Power Steeing flush:
  • Transmission flush:
  • Spark Plugs & Wires:

  • Air Filter: I would change every time you change oil, or at least inspect see how much crud you have accumulated and make a decision

  • Fuel Filter: About every 60k miles or so.
  • Engine Coolant flush: I think manufacturer rec is 7 year or 100K. I would do it 7 years or 50K. I would only flush if it is needed.
  • Power Steeing flush: I would not flush, just such out the oil and refresh every 50K or so, IMHO
  • Transmission flush: 50 K or so. I personally would just like to change the fluid and filter, not a flush.
  • Spark Plugs & Wires: 60K or so on plugs and if you break a spark plug wire change the wires out.
Brake fluid, take a look at it. I refresh mine when I do brakes.
I don't have an opinion about differential.

Good luck, you will get various opinions on these topics.
