Default Doug Rippie Performance question

I don't know much about the Doug Rippie performance packages. Are there any particular problems inherent with them and I was wondering whether most performance shops could service and keep these corvettes running well or is Rippie's shop the way to go? Thanks.

Doug Rippie did my car and I love it. Actually, I picked out the parts I wanted (to get my mind off a divorce I was going through), DRM installed all of them and Doug tuned the car. The man absolutely knows what he's doing. I have seen some real monsters come out of DRM. Let him know your goals and he will give you whatever you want....mild to wild. He has packages to fit any need. He's honest and has an honest dyno. Give Randy (Doug's son) a call and shoot the breeze with him for awhile. It'll be worth your time, believe me.

Doug and son Randy Rippie are great guys, Good products and great service. and I would also highly recommended them.

But why go 1/2 across the country? ECS is there in NJ ( forum Vendor ).

What do you want your car to do?

I am familiar with ECS, however, I was looking at a DRM car that already has the performance package. Wondered about ECS to keep it running. or if problems. Minnesota is a long ways away!

I would be surprised if ECS couldn't match that "package". They do a lot of stuff like that just don't advertise it as much as some places.

Give them both a call and compare notes. You should at least give them the opportunity, imo.

We have been doing this a long time and know the ins and outs of the Corvette. We don't do anything the guys at ECS can't figure out. The guys at ECS know us, we are friendly and between our shops we can keep you on the road for years to come.

Who's car are you looking at??? Buying a used performance car, is just like buying any other car. I'm sure ECS would be happy to look it over for you before the money changes hands.

Although I live here in MN I did a bit of reasearch and it kept coming up Rippie. Randy and the gang just finished up my 2002 Convertible with the "Top End" package and a really nice Kirban shifter. The communication during the project was great and delivered as promised.

I have put on nearly 1,000 miles since I picked it up and no codes, no problems, it just runs!! We got 415 RWHP and 385 TQ and it will snap around on you if you are not careful. What a blast to drive especially with the top down! I say go for it, you will not be sorry!

Good luck!

I got the email. She looks good. Like I said before, buying a used car is still buying a used car. We know the guys at the shop the car is for sale at, Tom is a great guy.

Good luck and if you need anything, you have resources

Too funny, but we made a few trips to see the new grandchild! You have to remember, I did buy that car from a guy in FL back in December with only 8,000 miles, a true garage queen!

Default Picked up my '00 convertible

picked up my car at Carlisle, seems to run great. I'm getting the previous owner's name from the dealer to send to Doug Rippie to get the low down on what was done. I drove the car back to NJ from Carlisle. It ran great averaged about 28 to the gallon according to the computer. Had as much or more power than my '02 Z06. The car was very clean and appeared to be well maintained. Cooper's Covettes from Virginia was very nice to deal with.

I have a few local customers with DRM-built cars, one that makes STOOPID power, and has run a best of 6.49 thru the 1/8th. This car is raced every friday nite, and has been for several years. All have proven very reliable and totally streetable. Well built cars, no question and the guys at the shop are always available whenever questions arise. Great people.....

I also have an ECS-built car, equally as powerful and also well engineered. They are also more than happy to help with past projects.....
