Default Power Telescoping Wheel

My 2000 C5 Vert is equiped with the Power Telescoping Wheel, a couple months ago I posted that I thought it wasn't working. One of the replies advised that I may need to actually "stroke" the switch 6 or 7 times to get it back in sync. Turns out 6 strokes of the switch will make the wheel move. After getting it to the position I desired I pressed and held my preset preferances, which was suppose to set the wheel as well. Upon exiting the vehicle the wheel should retracked and the return to my setting upon re-entery. This is not happening. Also in order to get it too move I must continue to use the 6 strokes. Any ideas out there? Thanks in advance "pear"

Agreed. Check that memory option and also you need to rememorize your settings once its set as you desire. Past that, still having problems, serious...that blue 7-pin connector under the driver's seat not only contains the power for the seat, but also the seat position feedback information to the SCM that takes care of all this.

Easy Exit is on and I have re-memorized my settings, still not working on exit and entery. As stated I can work it manually, but must stroke the switch 6 times for either direction. ..."pear"

pear -

Try this –

Using the up/down button on the column, move the column all the way “extended” and all the way “collapsed” HOLDING the switch for SEVEN seconds once the column gets to each extreme.

After doing this, reset the memory function. This may solve the issue.

There is a bulletin describing this procedure, which is used to allow the controlling module to relearn (see) the inner and outer travel limits of the column.

I bet the 7 second hold, has been where I messed up. We'll know in a few hours, when I get home from work. Thanks, "pear"

Looks like the 7 second hold was the whole problem. Thanks timemender
