Help.. Changed brake calipers and now having issues.

Default Help.. Changed brake calipers and now having issues.
Like I said. I just changed my old brake calipers for a new set of z06 calipers. Bled them and went to pull off and peddle went to the floor. So I pulled back in and bled them again. Same thing happend. So I took it for a drive and found that if I gently push on the brake peddle it will go to the floor. If I tap it a few times before pushing it hard it will build up pressure and brake properly.

Did you put them on the correct side? Bleeder nut has to be at the top. A common mistake.

When you had the calipers off,,,,,,,,did the master cylinder go dry by chance????????

If it did,,,,your going to need to bleed the master cylinder FIRST and then the claipers.

Exactly. The air in the caliper rises to the top and can only escape if the bleed port is facing upward and is on top.

WOW! Very good catch and recommendation!

When someone post a problem like this one, sometimes I fail to take EVERYTHING that can go wrong into consideration. To me, that problem (caliper mounted on the wrong side) wouldnt happen because I know that the bleeders need to be up.

Guess I need to be a little more open minded.
