Default Diffrence between fuel systems in 2003 and 2004

Hi

does anyone know are there any diffrence in fuel system in for example 2003 50th anniversary c5 vert and 2004 z06????

I know in 2003 models they updated the fuel system, as is in the c6 today.

So are there any fuel-system diffrence between z06 2004 and c5 2003 ????'

thanks

The newer fuel system was installed sometime during the 2003 production run. Not sure exactly when - I'm GUESSING around Dec '03 - Jan '04.

My '03 made early in 2004 has the new system.

I can't answer your specific question about the Z06.

I looked briefly on the Internet and could not find specific articles about exactly when the fuel system was changed during production. A more extensive search should net results.

Maybe this will be of some help to you:

There are two visual differences that come to mind.

The newer system uses a metal outer crossover tube between the two tanks. The older system uses a rubber outer hose between the tanks.

The newer system has an internal fuel filter. (Inside the drivers side tank as part of the fuel pump assembly) The older system utilizes an inline fuel filter mounted on the inner frame rail forward of the left gas tank.

The system works the same but it is completly different. The fuel system service connections are at the TOP of the tanks rather at the rear bottom. The tanks are shapped a little different also. I dont think there easily converted from a older system to a newer system. Never looked that much into it.
It JUST SO happens that I took a picture of a set of 04 tanks today at Carlisle!!!
