I'm doing the home made invisicord and the one small piece of info that I could not find in the existing threads is which wire is pos and neg on the phone cord. I'm doing the homemade one where all you get is green and red at the end. I am afraid to experiment because I dont want to risk shorting out my detector. Thank you x million!

You could have just bought one of my Invisicord cords, but I won't hold it against you for going the DIY route!
If you hold the rj11 plug as if you were about to plug it in so that the locking tab is on the bottom, whichever of the two middle wires is on the right, that is the positive.
Good luck with the installation of your DIY cord!

Depends which end you use, they are opposite each other.
That is why I color-code the connectors, so that you don't have to use the wire colors. My first generation was using the wire colors, but later I decided just to color code the connectors, it was safer this way, and more consistent for me after having gone through more than a mile of phone cord.

The color of wire doesn't matter. It's the pin position. In one instance, I simply used cross connect. My employer uses the blue/white pair whenever we terminate voice cables.
Just a member and have been for 6 years. Invisicord was born here on corvette forum through a group effort back around 2004/2005, the first batch sold here had all proceeds go to the Riley's Hospital fund drive that year. Not sure what you are asking?

Correct, whichever wire is on the right side as you plug it into the detector is the positive line to the mirror.

Yes I do sir, it is listed as my home page. If you have any questions on DIY or my product/services, just PM me or email me. I love DIY projects so I have no issue helping those that go this route. The only ones I won't help are the copycat vendors of my cord, I have to have my limits!
You can also pick up the Invisicord through Southern Car Parts, they offer various package deals or the Invisicord separately here on the forum.
Also does anyone know how to properly remove the cord from the back of the mirror. I dont want to break it. Also I've seen some controversy on which port to plug to positive in. I know the black is ground, but that's the extent of it.
