I have an 04 coupe. The pass. side daytime running light is out. Hopefully, it just needs a bulb. I took a quick look and I can't see how to get to it. The owner's manual doesn't address that one. Anybody have any experience with this? Thanks.
Neutronvette - Ok using your route I can get my hand on the socket but I can't get a good enough grip to turn it. That's a tight squeeze. Any other suggestions?
I will add one thing to NeutronVette's instructions that may make the difference for you.
With the headlamps up turn the **** on the passenger one to manually lower the assembly a few inches. This will create a little more space for you to get your hand down there and turn the socket.
Remove the plastic panel under the front bumper. You can then get to it from the bottom.
I assume you're talking about the black plastic panel behind the bumper that extends all the way to the top of the radiator accross the front of the car and has the air filter box and tubing connected to it. Wow, that will be quite a project.
How about removing the headlight assembly and reaching down that way?
I got the socket out finally. To gain some clearance, I removed the threaded hood support bumper near the headlight. Then I had room to reach in far enough to twist the socket out.
Thanks for the suggestions guys.
I just push the brake duct back, reach in, remove the bulb socket, pull it out and swap bulb. Reverse to install.
Do you push the brake duct back reaching thru the opening leading into the duct itself? If so then I see how that would work. So the duct just slips on to be reattached at the inlet point - where you stuck your hand thru?
For future reference, there is an access panel behind the front air dam on each side. (below the bumper) You only have to remove 6 or 8 screws to remove it, and then there is enough room to change bulbs and remove the whole side lamp housing if you want to.
Plus the bulbs don't have to be on, like with the headlights up, so they are cool and you don't burn your fingers.

That's the way I do it too. I just first mark the hood bumper screw for length before removing it, that way I put it back exactly where it was before so there's no adjustment hassles. Makes for lots of room for us guys with phat phorearms.

Yes, stick your fingers into the duct and push it back and down.
