Default Line Lock Switching install

So I rewired my Linelock tonight.

I saw something at the LG Motorsports booth at Carlisle that caught my eye, so I thought I'd try it.

They have a "Man" switch for the flapper exhaust to open it on demand. Really nice product - IMHO.

Any way, I wanted two switches. One to arm, and one to activate.

I removed the cig lighter from the center console and placed the arming switch there. It is the perfect size for the hole. I used the power from the lighter to power the line lock.

I put the activation switch in my shift ****. It is a momentary on switch. I have the C6Z06 shifter and ****. I dont know how well this would work with other shifters.

Looks nice and works great.

Here, the wires are coming out of the bottom of the shifter ****

Here is the arming switch in the off position

Here it is in the armed position

Here is a better pic of the activation switch.

You did a nice job. I like it when it looks like it came with it from the factory. (Not related, I did a nice job and write-up on the Harley Forum about a remote garage door opener switch installed on the fairing, if anybody wants info, feel free to write.) It's always nice to help out........

To me, a true example of good craftsmanship occurs when someone makes a modification that appears to be factory installed. In addition to accomplishing that, putting the button on the shifter makes sense (mine is on the lower left of the dash) and the separate arm switch is a great way to prevent accidental activation.

I have been considering wiring mine into the horn. Flip a switch and the horn switches from horn to line lock. You just have to remember to switch it back.

I like your install though. Plus it should make activation easy.

Considering the membrane has a history of failure, with some failing shorted, I don't think that is a wise choice for a line lock switch....

Thanks for the heads up, I had never heard that before. What about using the headlights, flash to pass feature. That would be a convenient place and easy to reach from the steering wheel.
