I like to do a Tune-Up my 2004 Vette w/ a 350/Automatic and will also like to change the "Chip" for a better Performance..!
Anyone knows, where should I go or what to do...?
Thanks
I am sure there are a ton of custom tuners in your area. Any tuner that uses hp tuners should be fine. The tune will firm up your shifts and give you a little more horsepower. Before the tune, go ahead and get a good cold air induction system if you have not done so. A.k.a., a blackwing, callaway honker, vararam, etc. Also a good exhaust system will help. With a good tune, a air intake, you should be able to pickup a honest 20hp. Good luck.
Your 346 LS engine uses a Power-train Control Module (PCM) to control your engine. To change the calibrations, you need to re-flash the PCM with a new calibration. There are several ways to do that. If you have an Automatic and just want to do some minor tuning (very limited to the engine calibrations) you can use the Predator Hand Held Tuner.
If you want to add engine modifications and do some extensive tuning, you will need to find a good tuner $300-$500) or purchase EFI Live or HP Tuners tuning software ($700-$800 ) and learn to do it your self.
Hi Bill:
Thanks for providing me with the information about my 2004 Vette..!
In that case, I might as well fool around with my 1994 much better than with the 2004..! No wonder my 1994 goes a lot faster than the 2004 , but BRAKING, is not the same...! I have to probably put better brakes and know that is a true 350 cu inch on the 1994..!
I am not going to go through all that trouble on the 2004, rather fool around with my other 1987 and perhaps drop a 454 cu inch engine I have on a 1973 El Camino, to play around with some hot kids on the street..! : I'll think about it..! Perhaps I will sell the 2004 and buy a Z06 better, let me think about it and see what I'll do...!
Thanks Bill for your input
Best regards
Alberto

Thank you for your information, I think are going to leave it along and fool with my other 2 Corvettes that have a 350 cu inch, are not going to spend any money on this one, perhaps will buy a Z06, better off, rather than fool around trying to do anything with this...!
Thanks for your input,

If you are interested in making changes yourself, HP Tuners will be one of the best investments you make for your car. Feel free to contact us with any questions.
If your 94 is stock there is no way it should be faster than the 2004...something is wrong with the 04 if it cant outrun the 94. As for selling the 04 for a Z06, well its the same size block (346ci) and uses the same type of computer to control it. So no "chip" on the Z either.

As was typical of Detroit in the muscle car heyday, the El Camino SS454 received some changes each year; new for 1971 were fender-mounted two-part turn signals flanking single round headlamps, and the grille was restyled with a single thin chrome center bar. Hood pins became standard, and sporty new dark gray 15 x 7-inch road wheels with chrome trim rings were shared with the Camaro; revised vinyl upholstery patterns enlivened the interior. This year, a subtly retrimmed GMC version of the El Camino called the Sprint was a fresh offering, and the hottest Sprint SP-454 was a virtual clone of the SS454. In 1972, the El Camino received one-piece front turn signals and a grille with two slim horizontal chrome bars. Despite being only 200 miles from new, an LS5 El Camino SS454 was a lively performer, as noted by Drag Racing USA in February 1971: "The quarter-mile performance was frankly better than we'd expected with this new low-compression version of what had been a high-compression engine. Our e.t.s averaged 14.7 seconds at speeds of 96 to 97 mph.... Given a few hundred more miles and sharp tuning, we see no reason why two or three tenths, at least, wouldn't come off the e.t."

To give the OP his due, he said "drop in a 454 he had." No mention was ever made of it being the stock El Camino 454. As you can buy crate 454s with upwards of 450 hp and 500 lbtq, that could be quite a beastie. http://www.proformanceunlimited.com/...454_500hp.html
However, I agree with all of you that just because there is no "drop-in magic chip," he shouldn't be afraid to mod.
Not to mention, his 1994 "true 350" is an LT1, not a real Small Block. It didn't have a chip, either. Having owned one at the same time I as my vette, it does "feel" a little stronger off idle, but there's no comparison with an LS1. Stock, a 94 LT1 Z28 or Vette will be about 1 sec behind an LS1 car in the quarter.
