Condition/Concern:
DTCs U1016, U1064 and U1096 may be present when scrolling through the onboard diagnostics via the instrument cluster Driver Information Center (DIC).
Recommendation/Instructions:
This is a normal software function as long as the DTCs have a history status upon ignition cycling. No repair attempts should be made.
Well, you have what's called history codes here, the last letter can either be a "C" or an "H" C=current code and H=history code, something that's happened in the past. The "U" at the first indicates a problem with communication with the cars computer...So U1096H, U1016H, and U1064H happened in the past sometime, and means loss of communication, the 1016 means with the PCM, 1064 with the BCM and 1096 with the IPC. Sounds like your battery was dissconnected or died. Either way, they are history codes and not to really worry about. Just worry about codes that end in "C" . The entire list is on another website...http://www.stengel.net/diccodes.htm.
