Sqeaking Belts
I have a new to me 2003 C5 with 60K miles. When first started, the engine (belts) I think squeak but then they stop after it warms up. I here that there are issues with the belt tensioner? The serp belt looks almost new.

u have the same problem and got another top tensioner and it didnt fix the problem.i am thinking it is my lower tensioner that i am going to replace when they tear my motor down to find out what bad knock i just got in the motor yesterday

I have had problems with mine making noise for the last 6 months or so. first I replaced the belt and it went away for all of 2 weeks (the car only sees the road on the weekends, and the garage all of the time in between) even pulled the main belt off and ran the car to make sure it wasnt the ac belt. checked the tensioner and idler, both good. then one day noticed antifreeze under the car, and the squeak was really bad. replaced the water pump and belt, and i almost completely went away. now I rarely hear it if the car is under a slight load at around 1500 rpm. just a leaky water pump! think my pulleys may just need to be cleaned to completely remedy the noise
