Default Need traction, help!

My Michelin Pilot Sports do not seem to be cutting it on the streets or the track. I only have about 350 rwhp and I get to much wheel spin at the track on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. The 1-2 shift has been so bad that I have had active handling engage(running in competion mode) due to getting a little too sideways. I seem to always get 2.08x 60 fts.

I have an M6 coupe with a race weight of 3230 :yesnod:. I plan to add an LS6 intake for another 10hp so I won't be running more than 360 rwhp.

My question is, what set up should I go with:
1. BFG 315 DRs on 17x12 CCW rims
2. BFG 275 DRs on some OEM front Z06 wheels or CCW rims
3. ET streets and skinnies on CCW setup
4. other???

I'm leaning toward option 1 or 2 above. I really prefer to keep my unsprung weight to a minimum so I'm considering the 275 BFG if they will provide the traction I need. I know option 3 will provide plently of traction off the line, but maybe too much. I don't really want to do any grinding to fit the rims, and I don't want to start breaking driveline parts. I also prefer the high speed stability of a radial tire.

Any experience or reccomendations is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve. I'm at a similar power level (340) and use the 275 BFG's. I've broken parts with them, so they work. ;) :D
They're mounted on 17x9.5 '01 repros.

I started with the 275 DR's on 9.5 rims.. Once you get over the 400 rwhp mark or even close to it the 275's dont cut it.. I just got 315's on 17x12 CCW's and they hook real nice on the street. I have not had them at the track yet but I have seen consistant mid 1.6's with a friends 6 speed H/C car. :seeya

Bruce, how do the skinnies up front fit? Is any there any grinding required on the front?

Thanks,
Steve

Skinnies fit up front just fine.
Some file work is required on the rear flashing, not a big deal.
I did it just fine.
File, mount, file- mount.... ect....

It is well worth it, these babies grab :D
You wont regret it if you go to the track....!

Try some 16x11.5x26 ET Streets. They work great for me at the track.
