on my 98 vette, i occasionally get the low coolant warning light. system was flushed and refilled recently. i notice that the warning comes on when the car is sitting with nose downhill, and sometimes on a quick acceleration. thoughts?
The cleaner is used diluted as not to destroy the plastic. A new one can be had for less than $40 so its worth a try in my book. Like I said before, this is what the local dealership does and has done for many years.
If a new tank is less than $40 then I think I'll just get a new one if I ever have this issue. $40 for something that will last for 10+ years is pretty cheap... And I don't want toilet cleaner in my coolant lines.
The most effective and safest slime, crud and greasy film remover is Dawn liquid dishwashing detergent. They clean oil slicks off of ducks with it, so you don't have to worry about harming plastic.
The Dreaded Coolent Level Low has risen from the tomb. Bottle is full to the top. Keeps coming back on. Just replaced the Harmonic balancer, timing chain, oil pressure switch. new belts and pullies.
I took a small flexible brush and tried to brush it thru the filler neck. I think I did get to it, but that wasn't the fix I hoped. ssssoooo, when I get more time....
