Where are the adjustment screws for adjusting the door to fix an air leak in my C5 coupe.?Is this an easy fix or should take it in and have a pro do it? Any suggestions would be helpful.
Frank
Are you talking about adjusting the glass against the weatherstrip?
There is a tip-in adjustment behind the reflector in the door panel, but any major glass adjustment to center it in the opening, or raise/lower the glass has to be done where the glass clamps into the window regulator assembly.
Is the tip in adjuster the same for a c5 convertable
I think the window regulator assemblies are the same for all C5s, and the adjusted is part of the regulator. It moves the bottom of the guide rail in or out, which tips the top of the glass the opposite direction.
Position the window fully up.
Remove the large access plug from under the front of the door.
Loosen the window regulator front channel mounting nut.
Remove the reflector from the trim panel
Loosen the jack screw jam nut.
Adjust tip in with the jack screw.
Turn the jack screw clockwise to tip the window outward.
Turn the jack screw counterclockwise to tip the window inward.
One turn of the screw equals approximately 1 N·m (0.04 in) change at the top of the window.
Tighten the jack screw jam nut.
Lower the window.
Tighten the window regulator channel front mounting nut.
Raise the window and check the alignment.
Install the access plug under the front of the door.
Install the reflector in the door trim panel.
