I noticed a strange fluctuation pattern of the digital oil pressure readings. High would be 44 lbs but then the pressure would drop to 43, then 42, then 41 then 40 and then suddenly go back to 44. The cycle took about 50 minutes to repeat and did so for hours at a time. Anyone got any ideas other than just another crappy piece of GM equipment????
Wow, a gauge that has less than a 2% variance and it is labeled crappy??? That's pretty good by most any standard. The difference you are seeing could be cause by a number of things. My guess would be voltage or oil temp. Were you using A/C?

Its probably just the sensor having issues.

I noticed that in my wife's 08. I would bet it is the oil pump's pressure relief valve opening and closing slightly. You are probably seeing a very accurate gauge.

Maybe I did miss your point and I'm not sure yet. Maybe I focused on the comment of "another crappy piece of GM equipment" too hard. I guess I started wondering what other GM equipment you feel is crap, not including the column lock issues,we all know that is without a doubt crap!
