Had the engine flushed then my car started overheating. I replaced the thermostat to start to no avail. I tried burping it multiple time and seemed fine. First trip it over heated again. I tried cleaning the ac condensor and nothing. I have yet to see a leak from the water pump, however when I was flushing the Radiator it came out pure clean water. When I did it through the water pump it seemed as tho it only went in the pump and straight out the pump immediately. I overheat within 5 minutes. Any sugguestions?
Also the fan is running at a low speed then speeds up after getting to 225 or so. Is that normal? If I take the water pump off is there any way to viually look at it to tell if it is working correctly?
It takes a LOT of effort to clean the radiator and condenser fins. You can't just use a vaccum cleaner... you need to use an air compressor and multiple passes to blow the crud out.
The easiest way to tell if you have it clean is to put a light behind it and look through it. You'll either see the light, or a bunch of crud.
I agree with the last two post. I just went through what your going through. The radior and A/C consensor may not appear dirty at first glance. If I were a bettin man, I'd say if you put a light up on the A/C consensor or the radiator you will see how dirty it actually is. you can use a vac. or a garden hose with low pressure. you need te be able to see through the radiator for the most part. as far as the watter pump being out, chances are if its bad you would know it. i.e. the tep gauge would probably peg out.
One person had a smiliar issue a long while back where he found a collapsed radiator hose...internally. I would think that's a rare case if the outside was still looking good.
