LS3/L92 heads on Stock LS6?
Hey, so I was talking to my friend from Zenith Motorsports about putting a twin screw on my car. He's telling me I should stick to my original plan which was to use a TechCo 3L.
Problem is that I'd need LS3/L92 heads to make it work. I wouldn't mind swapping out my LS6 heads for the LS3 heads, but I've been told I'd need to bore out to at least a 6.0L to put LS3 heads on. Is this true? Or can you put LS3/L92 heads on a stock LS6?

LS3/L92 heads are too big for a LS6 block as yes you will need to boar out to at least 6.0L
but why would you want to put on LS3 heads? there are far better options available. If sitck with the LS3 heads, use the the best valves you can afford. sodium and hollow filled plus the best springs.
but if putting on twin screws stick with the LS6 block and heads, low rise cam and springs to match

That's what I thought. I had to double check...
AU N EGL, The TechCo only works with the LS3/L92 heads... If I do decide to go with a TechCo blower, I'll likely get a set of stage 3 TSP L92 heads.
I've never done any serious motor work. From what I understand, an LS6 isn't the right block to bore out because the walls are already thin as it is. So this would mean that I should pick up another block. I wasn't expecting to spend so much money on a blower setup... So I'll really need to think about this.
Thanks guys.

I find it funny how "there are FAR better heads to use", than the L92s, but if you ve ever had them ported and polished AND flowed, they can flow over 350cfm(intake). 255cc intake runners and 2.19" valves(i think). If you check out the thread in the Performance Forum under N/A(over 346ci)(because u can t use L92s on smaller than 4" bore), check out what heads are used on the big NA #s....The "expensive" Trick Flows and AFRs etc might look Purty on someones list of mods but there isn t too many making more than L92s.(P&P). I ve fixed my problems(slipping clutch/163* iats/elect WP, UP etc) that limited my dyno numbers to 539/500tq, and this 427 WILL make 600whp with L92s. - NA. No Blower needed for me.(although i have 2 big nitrous set-ups in case i need it for the track) Once i address my rear end "weak links" with 300m shaft(s), im going to the track............. The L92s are a factory head- But don t let that fool ya! ------In NO WAY am i putting down anyone elses set-up, Use what u choose, Just don t overlook L92s as a "worthy" head. also im not a dyno racer, Its all i have to go from so far.
Anyone want to "loan" me their 300m shafts............? j/k

Yeah. Sounds like too much money to do what I want. If I'm going to go that route, it's going to cost me double what I was planning on spending for a blower setup. 8K for the motor swap, 8K for the blower.... 16K for a blower setup is ridiculous and that doesn't even give me forged parts. It's ok... I'll likely just stick to my 2nd plan which was get a Maggie or TVS (when available for the C5s).

Sweet. Sounds good. I'm saving my pennies... Although, today I did something stupid while I was drunk... I didn't want to drive and I wanted Taco Bell, so I paid for some people's food so that they could get me something... Most expensive trip to through the drive through I've ever walked. LOL

For $16-20k one could get a fully forged dry sump LS2 402 that puts out mid 500 rwhp with relative good reliability.
of course then again it will run that person another $16-20K for suspension, trans, diff and BBK brakes to hold that HP too.
