Default LS2 engine with ls6 intake

HI:
I am planning of installing a ls6 intake on ls2 engine. This going to be installed ina c5 vette. I have read that the ls2 intake is not as efficient as the ls6. at this moemnt I can not afford the FAST 92 intake with TB. So i am planning on installing the ls6 intake with a ls2 oem throttle body. Can someone tell me how to get a 90mm Throttle body that would fit this intake? I have been told that the stocks 90mm Tb are 4 bolts and the ls6 intake is only 3 bolts, also there is a problem with the electronics they do not match and most of the 90mm are cable driven. This is going to be installed in a c5 which have a elctronic throttle(not cable driven).

why would you want to put a 90mm tb on a 78mm intake? just use your factory tb. being the intake is going to be smaller than the tb you will have a restriction at the intake and air turbulence. since you are shrinking air from 90mm to 78mm. it would be different if it was a smooth transistion(sp)

I seem to recall that there is a company (cannot remember the name) that bonds a 90mm snout to LS6 manifolds..

Just forgot to mention that I plan to port the snout. Hopefuly i think this can be done or It can nbe done. Any advice? I am trying to avoid spending 900 bucks in a Fast intake. Do you guys think a ported ls2 intake with the 90mm tb would be better than ls6 ported intake with a 90mm tb?

TPIS cuts the front of the manifold off and bonds a 90mm snout to it. You CAN NOT port an LS6 opening to fit a 90mm TB, and even if you did, an LS2 TB still won't bolt up. I have a 90mm TPIS intake on my 382 and I love it.

TPIS. But they use their TPIS Oval 90mm pptb.

That combination flows better then the Fast 92/92 combo.

I have a TPIS 78 mm tb on my LS6 manifold. Love it

Not really, what is does do is speed up the air velocity into the manifold and heads. high air velocity over high air volume provides much more torque

As Mike has stated, TPiS will convert your LS6 intake manifold to accept a LS2/LS7 90mm throttle body. I had them do the conversion on my intake. Here are pictures after the conversion and the results. I am very happy with both.

You will also need a conversion cable to use a LS2 TB with C5 electronics. They're both drive by wire, BTW.

Mike, did you ever do a before/after??? This is what I am wanting to do to my car at some point mainly to make sure that the TB/Inlet to the LS6 manifold isn't a restriction.

No, I had Dr. Phil do a street tune on it. He said it needed 10-12% more fuel almost everywhere across the board. My only other power adding mods that I did since my last tune was a Vararam (replaced a Halltech Stinger) a 90MM MAF, and this intake manifold. If it needed that much more fuel then I would say it is also taking in more air. I have a 382 LS6 with some PRC heads and a healthy cam so I'm sure my gains were more than the average bear, but I'm extremely pleased. The butt dyno is definitely reading higher!

And look at updating your MAF if you haven't. A 78mm MAF in front of a 90mm opening is kinda silly.

I think TPIS is the company that does that.
