New Trans Problems C5
Ok not sure what is going on about a mounth ago I burned out the 3rd and 4th grear clutch packs and the overdrive band in my 04, bought a factory replacement from GM. What my question is I had pretty much been babying it for last month kinda got on it a little had the other day and it stepped up to like passing gear then kicked out real quick before i had let off. I have no codes or lights on should i had or have to reprogram the computer in the car to this trans for the shift patterns or did i get a faulty trans. What i paid for the trans was same price as what I was quoted by trans guy to rebuild mine so I went with the 3 years 50,000 mile warranty over his 12 month 12,000 mile. But now I have this going on so not sure what I need to do. Has anyone had this issue before or do i need to start with GM about getting this one replaced

Could be that at the speed the car was traveling, the transmission selected a gear to downshift into that quickly reached “red line” and then simply shifted up to the next gear.
Observe the engine RPM’s at various speeds when you floor it.
