Default TPIS installation..tips questions how-to's....

Hey gang my headers should be here thursday and pending thursday mornings emissions testing they are going to be installed friday w/o the cats of course. I would appreciated it if anyone had some helpful hints or tips to make this installation a breeze. I purchased some SS 2.5" pipe and SS O2 bungs to eliminate the cats so that part is handled but this is my first installation of headers on an LS1. Thanks in advance. :yesnod:

WellI just got finished installing my headers and let me tell you what a difference they made. The installation was straight forward, just remove the ignition coils, steering link, starter ,oil filter and drop them in from the top. I started the car up with just the headers and man it sounded like a damn NASCAR. I made some custom cat eliminator pipes to take place of the cats. 2-pipes 23" and 23.5" long with 2.75" on one end/2.5" on the opposite and welded in some bungs. They bolted right up with some stainless steel band clamps. Installation took about 4.5 hours and was straight forward. My first test drive left me with a big :yesnod:. The car felt soo much stronger and sounded awesome to boot. Cheers.

I recently put on TPIS LT's and an X pipe, but left my cats on.

How much louder is it without the cats?
Do you have to have an o2 post cat simulator?
How often do you have emmisions inspections and are you going to have to put the cats back on for that?
