Default non pop up headlights

Anyone here done the fixed headlights on his C5? What kit would you recommend? Is it a do it yourself project or not? Thanks.

There are at least 2 conversion kits that I know of that are plug and play, a lot easier than DIY.

I replaced my gears in my headlight motor back in April. It is very straight forward and easy. Any DIY'er should be able to handle this fix. The hardest part was getting the cover off the motor without messing it up, but if you take your time it not a problem.

Specter Werks makes the nicest fixed lights that I have seen or owned.

Pics?

Not sure they are still in business... did a Google search and the site it comes up with has had
the domain name suspended...

The best looking ones I've seen are the Breathless Performance version - but they aren't cheap.

That's the URL that Google found! Only when I tried to go there it said the domain wasn't paid up... apparently it is now and I just happened to hit it when it wasn't! What are the odds?

Looked at their offering... I actually like the exposed version better than the one with the plexiglass cover,
but they aren't much cheaper than the Breathless Performance version, which I like better still.

Edit: with the 10% CF discount, they are the same price!

Don't those look stuck on and out of place on a C5? I can't get used to it.

dlrshort - Sorry, guess I need to read the post a little closer. I read its as you were having problems with your headlights and how to FIX them...
Anyways, I'm with Bill Curlee or just purchase a C6.

I bought the Depot fixed lights and the have a better focused beam .

It takes a little time to get them right , a shim here and there , but once you do they rock and look great , imo .

The complete set is the same price as one headlight motor for the pop-up's .

Personaly , i had the worst luck with my stock lights so these were a God send for me .

The install of these lights is described as an easy install yet it supposedly takes 4-6 hrs. Those of you who have installed them, did it take you that long? Also wondering if the 'tubs' come in different colors to match factory paint?

Its time consuming taking the old stuff out but i did mine in1.5 hours and then spent another hour tweeking them to get them right in the hole .

Probley another 1/2 hour playing with them and getting the lights aligned where i wanted them .

PS: Most lights like these use brackets that bolt to the factory mounting holes , open up all the holes in the brackets one or two sizes bigger so you have a little more adjustment .
