Changing out stat, need any advice.
Hi all,
I ordered a 160 thermo and am going to put it in tonight. Are there any special procedures when putting it in that I should be aware of, like leaking coolant all over? I want to do the job right and have never changed one out in a vette. Thanks for any input!

Piece of cake with the o-ring vs a gasket design. You don't have to scrape old gasket material and risk damaging mating surfaces or worry about improper sealing of a gasket or use messy compounds. Just be sure to observe the relatively low torque spec for the fasteners, due to the alloy block, etc.
