OP describes my day to a T. Car will limp along if I don't give it any gas, but as soon as I touch the gas it chatters like mad. I guess it's clutch time. I'm stock power with 51,000 miles btw
58k on mine. Save it from happening again and put in a LS7 clutch.
I know my additional TQ probably was a factor, but I'm sure 30 trips down the 1320 didn't help.
If you get it apart and don't see a problem, cut the rivets off and look inside b4 you look elsewhere. Don't ask how I know but I did get a new set of 3.90's out of the deal while I was looking for the problem.

I started having the EXACT same symptoms last night. 64k on a bone stock car that I drive hard. I guess it's clutch time.
When the stock disc came apart where was the separation? Was it a violent break with "shrapnel" and whatnot that should deter me from driving at all to limp to a different garage for repairs?

Don't have pics. No "shapnel". The splined hub of the pressure plate broke loose and spun. You may be able to limp it if your super easy on it!
