Default another lowering question

So I've read most of the DIY's on this and seems straightforward .. until I looked at the bolts in the rear. According to the DIY's I should see a good number of threads at stock height and less number of threads after lowering. here's my car as it sits ...

side view makes it look like plenty of room to lower, but bolt shows almost no threads at the top so there's no where to go with the bolt. Someone tell me what I'm doing wrong. All pics are of left rear.

Your stock bolts are maxed out, which is surprising considering the wheel well gap. You'll need to get loger bolts to go lower...Zip Corvettes sells a front and rear kit fairly inexpensive.

ok ... but does this indicate anything else? anything wrong here I should be looking into? car seems to ride and handle ok and there are no obvious signs of damage. I may just wait on this - I am planning to visit Phoenix soon so I may just get their expert opinion and have them do it and align it.

I take it you're not the original owner? I don't think this is indicative of any damage, so I don't believe you have anything to worry about.

1) Was the car off the ground just before that picture was taken, and the spring hasn't settled back in yet?

2) What is the size and make/model of that tire in the picture? The side wall looks a little lower profile than that of the OE GY F1 SC's, which could give the illusion of a larger wheel well gap.

no I just bought the car in July. It's been driven at least 50 miles since last jacked up, and it looked like this before that as well. The tire is a Firestone Wide Oval 295/35-18.

I've heard that wide ovals can look a little narrow on the profile, but I've never seen them up close in person to form my own opinion. Again, I don't think there's anything wrong with the car...I would pick up a front & rear lowering kit from Zip Corvettes for $39 to get the look you want, and then go get a good alignment.

1/2" x 7" grade 8 bolts from any bolt supplier. Way cheaper than the kits you these places sell. That will do everything you need. In the front I would say remove the bolts all together if you want to get the max drop.

I'll remove half the bushing on each end of the bolt an see if you like the result.
