Trackboss,

Thanks for the link. It sounds like you have more experience at the track then I do. Your comment ”just about every C5 run hard on the road course over fills the heads”, how has it been determined that the heads are filling? I am familiar with high lateral forces causing a delay oil drain-back, but not too much oil going to the valvetrain.

I haven't been involved with any type of valve spring oil misting system. What is the source for the mist oil? I would guess an external supply line must be plumbed to the valve cover. Is that how it works? I can understand the need for upper head oil change-over to cool head components like the rocker bearings, valve stems, springs, etc..

I believe that most any of the issues caused by high g braking or high lateral loads can be corrected by maintaining oil supply. There are a few ways to do this including a dry sump oil system or accumulator system like the one that AU N EGL uses.

Anyway, thanks for the info on your setup. Keep us posted on how it all turn out for you.

It is my assumption that they are filling simply from all the information I've researched on C5's run hard on the road course. The majority of them either have catch cans that fill with a lot of oil and those that don't have the cans suck all the oil into the intake and dump it into the combustion chamber. I've been racing for almost ten years and been on the road course for almost 15. I have never had such an issue. This is the first I've been using a C5.
The valve cover oil system is externally plumbed with a -4 line.
I do have an accusump, but it is not doing its job well because my car always has low oil pressure and as a result the accusump pretty much always stays open. When it is really needed there just is not enough pressure there to do the job properly. With my upgrades I am increasing the oil pressure a bit so everything should work as designed. I am not dealing with a problem with the comp cams rocker arm trunnion upgrade so I may be delayed depending on how comp wants to correct it. Sucks as I was planning on having the car running by next weekend.
