OK I had my tires replace and I guess the tire shop did not reset the air sensors. Do any of you know what this is? I’m getting an error of please “service tire sensor monitoring system”. I took it to the Chevy dealer and they said the sensor need to be relearned. I guess the tire co should know about this reset when they change the tires. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
The good news is there is defintely an easy way for the ReLEARN 'cause I have read similar posts to this. Unfortunately, I don't recall what it is but hopefully someone will chime in.
You can do it yourself provided you have a BIG enough magnet. That's right
a magnet is used to 'reset' them. It takes 5-minutes if that. Most dealers will
just do it real quick without charging...
Maybe you have an old speaker magnet at home. Try that first.
I would also be interested in this process.
I (not a tire shop) will be installing my old (98) sensors in a new 2002 wheel/tire set that I just purchased.
You mentioned using a large magnet. Then what?
