and better oiling gallies above the bearings. The LS6 block is a much stronger block then the older LS1 blockwhat year LS1 block do you have ?
by the time you purchase all the parts for an LS6 conversion and have them installed, it may be less expensive to buy a LS6 crate motor and install that

LS1 vs. LS6

If you are looking for an LS6 I have a fresh forged LS6 (approx 380 RWHP). This is a backup engine for my race car (Corvette NASA ST2). I am probably going to do a Gen IV backup instead.

I sold the GT1 car to someone in Alabama. He got in touch with Tommy Riggins and decided the chassis was what he was looking for. I should have just put an LS engine in it and raced NASA SU.

Yes there are many differences regarding the internal engine components and heads, but the LS1 & LS6 bare block is the same 2001 & up.
(GM decided to use the stronger, improved LS6 block for the LS1 also)

Ok thanks. Was just wondering if it would be worth converting an LS1 or getting a crate motor LS6. Why im asking is I might be looking to build a C5 T1 car. My thinking if i can find a cheap LS1 car say a salvage or something i could just do the LS6 update.

YOU MUST HAVE A C6 LS3 with dry sump to be competitive.
Did you read the thread over in Auto-X and Road race forum about the Run Offs?
LS6s are just about out of date with the LS3 dry sump packages
SCCA T1 Run Off thread With videos
of course a Ferrari F430 walk way from everyone
but if you want to stay with the C5 only a new crate LS6 that has been blue printed and balance will be some what competitive, ie mid pack.
