Default Ls1 w/zo6 titanium exhaust ...

Guys
question, i just purchased a mint set of zo6 ti exhaust for my 03 coupe. I install a halltech air intake several days ago. Is the exhaust going to sound any different then it did with the stock exhaust. Is the intake going to make an impact on the sound . Any hp out of this mod ???

Thanks manny

Not a lot of horsepower, maybe some though. Perhaps a bit louder, but not much.

The Ti exhaust is lighter though.

Get a tune. That you will notice.

I did the same MODs that you are inquireing about on my 98 MN6 Coupe.

Here are the answer to your questions as to what I expierenced:

I have an 02 ZO6. I "LOVED" the ZO6 sound and wanted my 98 to sound the same. SO,,,,,,I installed a 02 ZO6 exhaust. When I first fired it off, I was NOT impressed. It sounded different but NOT ZO6 COOL! It is louder at WOT but still not ZO6 cool.

Engine compresion and cam dynamics make the exhaust sound.

The Ti exhaust looks 300% better than that base C5 OEM CRAP. It a LOT lighter (25 lbs total) so yoy gain in a few areas. The TI system shines when you add Heads and CAM Its gets signifiantly louder! and flows vey well.

I have stock engine, but intake and long tube headers w/ high flow cats through the TI. I think it sounds pretty good, could be a touch louder. But at least there's no drone. I hated the drone with Stinger's..... TI is a great exhaust. Don't see ever changing..... but you never know!!!

Get some long tube headers. It'll still be reasonably quiet at idle, but when you mash the go-fast pedal, they will really sing. And like the previous poster mentioned, no drone at all.

I really like how my FRC sounds with long tubes and Ti's....It really howls when you get on it, but no drone whatsoever...Idle sounds decent too...

I have the same setup and while it was good for awhile, I think it's still a bit too quiet. It really only seems to get loud above 4500rpm, especially when you let off the gas. I need more throughout the rev range.

I recently did the Z06 titanium exhaust change on my 04 vert. I also was not that happy with the exhaust sound, I purchased the exhaust because my neighbor with a Z06 gave me a ride in his car, not the same as mine.

If I get a dyno tune, will it change the exhaust sound? My car is stock.

NO!! A dyno tune will NOT change the sound. Adding more compression and a more radical CAM will.

Been there,,,done that.

Adding headers will change the sound some. It woke up the stock mufflers on my wifes C6. They sonded a little deeper. Of course I went with the 3" mid pipe with an X pipe and high flow cats.
