Do I need an X-pipe
Hello All,
Just got a stock '03 and have the mod bug. I think I'm going to add a Vararam CAI and a Corsa Extreme system. Do I need to get the Corsa X-pipe as well?
My goals are improved sound and flow. Any HP gain would be an added benefit. Am afraid of drone that's why I lean toward Corsa. Based on sound clips the Extreme system appeals to me. Not sure about headers, but that would be down the road.
Any thoughts on this strategy would be welcomed.

i just installed the corsa x-pipe and WOW what a difference. i doubt it added any hp, but it sounds so much better now. much deeper note for sure. you will have a bit less pop and gurgle on decel, but its still going to be there.

I would wait to you get headers.

I put an X pipe in my exhaust only for sound purposes. If it gained me any power, sweet. If it didnt, it sure does sound nice.
Although I went from manifolds to headers and totally different mufflers, so I cant say the "exact difference" the X pipe made, but I love it.

Without the X-pipe the car is definately louder, I don't think horse power has been altered. After 10 years it rotted out and I had to make a quick fix.
