Weird electrical problem involving horn....FIXED!!!!!
So, my 03 didnt have a horn when I bought it. No biggie to me. It also didnt have the horn relay in the fuse box under the hood. So, I got a horn today and hooked it up. Went and got my relay, and as I stuck it in place and it made contact, the horn went off. Took the fuse out and stuck the relay in, then started to put the fuse in and again as it touched the metal, the horn went off. What would cause this?

Has the air bag ever been replaced? My guess, and I'm by no means an expert in this area, would be the steering wheel center switch is grounded or stuck in a contact position. Did you try pushing on the horn switch area of the steering wheel to see if it has any affect?
No, I dont think the airbag has been replaced. Tried pushing the center of the wheel and the first time we tried you could hear the horn stop for a split second. We just tried it again and it didnt do anything, horn just kept going. Man, I hope it is not the membrane in the steering wheel. Ugh, dont know if I am up for that.
Update. Went and stuck a rag in the horn so it wasnt so damn loud, stuck the relay in and it started going off. Went to the wheel and really started pressing on it and I actually could hear it pause again like it did earlier. Just kept pushing in the middle and the horn actually stopped. Pushed as you normally would to honk and it stuck on again. Membrane?
So went to take out the two T-30 screws holding the horn/airbag assembly out and got the first one but then I stripped the second one. How in the hell can I get that out now?

I certainly hope you are following a service manual procedure. Hate to hear you were decapitated....
yes, battery is un hooked and I let it set for probably 15 minutes before I started working on it. I just cant gett the one torx screw out because it is striped. Just need some advice getting it out.

Sometimes you can get a small(or modified) flat blade screw driver in there to removed the fastener. If not, use a screw extractor or easy out.
Fixed!!!! The two Torx screws are the key. One of mine was stripped as I said earlier so went and bought an easy out set. The heads on those torx screws are aluminum so the easy out just ate away at it and would never grab. So, we drilled out as much of the screw as we could and was able to lift the center pad up enough that we could get a 7mm wrench in it and take out two screws that held the bushing that the torx screw goes through. Should have took pictures as this was a long process. But, we eventually got it. Since it was almost 9 pm Saturday night when we got it, I waited till Sunday morning to take the air bag assembly out and fix the membrane. I pulled up the horn membrane fix thread and referred to it many times. First thing I noticed was he ground cable was cut exposing wires so I put a good amount of electrical tape on it and thought that might do the trick. Put it all back together and the horn still blared when I hooked it up. So I took it all back out and started on the membrane. I do not know how to read a multi meter, but I got my small analog one out and checked it as the thread stated. From the readings I was getting it worked but would sometime stick. So I peeled it apart and put tape on the edges only. The more I looked at it, I could see big dimples (for a lack of a better word) in it. SO I peeled it back again and put tape in between those dimples and presto, it works just fine now! Many thanks for the membrane fix thread!!!!
