Default Power steering pump

In the process of pulling a cyl head I noticed that I had a leaking power steering pump. Sooo I pulled it down to replace the seal. Drat, the pump drive shaft is worn pretty good around where the seal contacts it.

I searched the net for a pump drive shaft with no luck.

Is this new pump time?

Does any one know where I can get a pump drive shaft?

Not really so my first thought is to simply replace the pump as a unit and be done with it. Try Gene Culley at www.gmpartshouse.com for the correct one.

Thanks, it is a shame I can get the drive shaft. It was not leaking bad, just misting off the back of the pully making a big mess. I pulled the drive shaft thinking I would get a new seal monday, and would you know it the drive shaft has a nice little groove worn right where the seal is.

Due to the massive number of replies to this post, I thought I would be in for a new pump!

I bought a shaft from my local GM dealer for like $44 and it came with seals... Also look at getting a LS2 power steering pump pulley. It's metal and has the wagon wheel design so you can get to the bolts if necessary and you can check the pump for leaks easier... The pulley is like $32.

Found the part numbers:
26045548 "Shaft, P/S Pump" (includes #4 - which is the outer bearing that is held in with the retaining ring.
The front seal for the shaft is part number 26033537 and you will want that too..
That should take care of you...

12568997 GM part number for LS2 Power Steering Pump Pulley (same as LS3)
GM list price is only $20.50
