it still makes noise. I actually think it's the stock **** that buzzes around 2500-3000K. I screwed it down as tight as it would go and made sure the pin was seated. I am waiting for my Hardbar **** so we'll see if that alleviates the problem. Maybe there is a trick to keep the **** quiet.
As far as performance goes I really like it. Very secure and precise shifts but not too much effort. Definitely better than stock if I can keep it quiet.
I've had mine for about a month and I too get the occasional "buzz" when doing some "performance driving". It's quiet during normal driving. Most, if not all, of the aftermarket shifters may experience a little of this due to the one piece solid steel shaft. The OEM unit is a two-piece affair with a molded rubber insulator incorporated into the design. This make it quiet but is also prone to the "rubbery" feeling when doing hard shifting. Oh well. Kinda hard to have it both ways I guess. I'll take the Hurst any day though. :D
Mine dosen't..but I'm using a billet ****. I measured the shaft on the Hurst just in case a noise would be present, (3/4"), cut a 3" piece of 3/4" heater hose & slide it on the shaft prior to boot installation, it might absorb vibration.
I've had one on order since 12/26/01 with LAPD looks like there having trouble getting there stock. Anyone know where I can buy one today, I'm tried of waiting :cuss :smash:
