Hi all,
Well, I just finished burning off/spitting out all the black gunk in my engine. Poured in the 2 cans of top engine cleaner yesterday afternoon and boy did some crap come outta my rearend    I am letting her sit for a few and then will change oil and run her on the highway. She sounds good now that the junk has burned off, but damn did she smoke up the city!
Just a few comments to add---Finished the oil change and ran her on the highway for a few. WOW, the difference is VERY noticable in pickup and in idle smoothness. I did notice a lot of black soot on the cardboard I placed behind the pipes to catch any gunk. Guess 47000 miles puts some buildup in the engine! I also put in a 160 stat and noticed that my temp is WAY lower than previously(i was runnin in the 225-230 range with the stock setup)(Thanks, Borba!). The decarb procedure is super easy with C5 Tech's way he suggested. Thanks, C5!

Please post link and where to buy the top engine cleaner.
Gm carries a Top End engine cleaner that is very similar to Seafoam which can be easily purchased at Carquest/Checkers/etc...I also run Redline S1 injector cleaner before doing the top end clean every 6 months. Overuse of S1 can lead to dry injector o-rings so use in moderation. The top end cleaner is best poured into the engine while it's running through an intake vacuum source if possible. When you get to the end of the can pour it in fast enough to stall the motor and then let it sit for 24 hours or so if possible before firing it up and blowing white smoke all over your zip code!
Does anyone have the decarb procedure? My car has 53000 miles on it and if it will help the motor, then I want to do it. Thanks inadvance for your help.
