decarb procedure
Hi all,
Well, I just finished burning off/spitting out all the black gunk in my engine. Poured in the 2 cans of top engine cleaner yesterday afternoon and boy did some crap come outta my rearend :lol: :lol: :lol: I am letting her sit for a few and then will change oil and run her on the highway. She sounds good now that the junk has burned off, but damn did she smoke up the city! :eek: :eek: :eek:

Just a few comments to add---Finished the oil change and ran her on the highway for a few. WOW, the difference is VERY noticable in pickup and in idle smoothness. I did notice a lot of black soot on the cardboard I placed behind the pipes to catch any gunk. Guess 47000 miles puts some buildup in the engine! I also put in a 160 stat and noticed that my temp is WAY lower than previously(i was runnin in the 225-230 range with the stock setup)(Thanks, Borba!). The decarb procedure is super easy with C5 Tech's way he suggested. Thanks, C5!

I gotta wonder what this does to your CATS......can't be good for them IMO.......maybe good for the motor but damn that has to clog up the CATS.....
