I just purchased a new LS6 intake and was wondering if you guys recommend getting it ported and if so by who.
Right now I have a stock 2000 LS1 with LT headers, no cats, Borla stingers, Vara ram CAI, and a tune. But I plan to add heads and cam in the near future.
From what Ive seen there's really not much to gain in porting the LS6. If you've got the extra $ to spend on porting you could easily save it, sell the LS6 and pickup and FAST 78, maybe a 90 if you find a good deal for the same price.
dont know who is the vendor, he even stopped porting LS6 intake as he never saw any gains out of it, u can get TB porting and get may be another 5 ponies, this is recommended bu almost anyone.
I have done porting (heads/intake) and balancing pistons/rods. Is it worth it? All the work was done by me at no cost...so yes. If you can afford to spend more cash than hp you will get...than yes. It does make for better flow, no debate there. The issue is cash vs. hp. There is better and cheaper ways to make hp. but if you know someone or can do it yourself...go for it! Every little bit helps!

Thanks for the input guys... I know it wouldn't make a huge difference, but like you said every little bit helps.
Are there any templates or guides on how much and where to remove material in the intake?
