Upgraded to NGK TR55's this weekend and found NGK PTR5-C13's already in the car. Very very small electrode that comes to a point. What are the
C-13's and what's the main difference between the plugs?
Found out the difference on the NGK web.
PTR5C-13 is a Premium Platinum, tapered seat, resister type medium heat special design plug with a .52 required gap and the
TR55 is a Tapered seat, resistor type medium heat with a .59 required gap
Actually the TR55's are plain vanilla copper core plugs. They only cost $1.50 each!
They will not last nearly as long as platinum (or Iridium) plugs... But, the copper is an excellent conductor, and they have a larger electrode (since copper is cheap), so the theory is that they will provide a better spark.
