At our Dimmitt show Saturday we had a 1963 convertible entered that had a clear hardtop on it. When I questioned the owner he told me that there were only two made. One for for the SAE show in Detroit and one for a GM executive. Has anyone ever heard of this? I'm not doubting him but any NCRS guys out there to verify this claim?
I took a picture of it but don't know how to post. Let me know and I will e-mail it to whomever.
Send it to me, I'll post it!

And yes, I've seen them for sale on the Big auction site, but for a C1, not a C2.

I believe what you are talking about is the mako shark. It originally had a clear hardtop, which was originally from the XP-700....if my memory serves.

Probably an aftermarket top. They were produced in small quantities by a private supplier back in the 60's. I know NCRS member Roy Braatz was making them for solid axles many years ago.
Cool but I really don't see why this is in the C5 section ?
Not cool, I'll bet it's hot! Actually I was wondering the same thing but it's interesting anyway. I've seen pictures of these tops before and I always thought they were aftermarket.
