Belangers Tri-Y Long Tube Headers

Has anyone installed these yourself and then just drive to the muffler shop (very loudly I presume) and have them weld them up to the cats?
I'm having a set installed next week and am wondering if I can save a few bucks and remove the stock manifolds myself and install the headers.

We exclusively sell the Belangers for the C5/Z06. 1195.00 for the headers and an average of 400.00 to install.
