Ok, new alternator, Bose amp fuse pulled (Bose was the first thing I ditched out of the car), and amp plugged back in, amperage drops to .02 after 10 minutes.
I have a load tester for the battery, it shows as top of the good range, and has been in the car just over a year. So hopefully my gremlins are banished and are off having a happy halloween somewhere far far from here. Will know for sure after a trickle charge and then letting it sit for a couple days.
Definitely appreciate all the input, likely will be back for more reference as I now get to replace the AC condensor after it apparently caught a rock and is leaking green lubricant. The fun just goes on and on, heh.

I was following the posts as well and also didn't see the meter plugged in wrong. I did want to comment to the OP though that the pictures were outstanding and as the old saying goes, one picture is worth a thousand words. Hat's off to Bill and Lucky for their assistance to you.
