Hey Everyone,
I have been having a problem lately with the service active handling light coming on after driving for a few miles. It comes on sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. It clears after the car had been shut down and restarted. I finally got around to pulling the codes.

C1286 H B2284 H B2285 H
C1287 H
Of course, I can't completely troubleshoot it here but it sure sound like the same problem with my 03. I was getting the P1287 code. Bottom line for mine was the Steering wheel position sensor was bad. Part = $80 Dealersship labor = $230
Thanks. Today it started to do something a little different. I am now getting Active Handling warming up. And then Warmup complete. And then so after Service Active Handling and service vehicle soon.
Warming up occurs when the system is having trouble calibrating itself to straight ahead. To calibrate the car has to travel in a straight line for a couple hundred feet at a speed over 6 mph. If you have a steering sensor code and are getting the warm up message quite often you probably have to check the steering sensor circuits and may have to replace the sensor. Another cause of the problems could be the need for a wheel alignment if your steering wheel isn't centered. Since you have the door battery codes it wouldn't hurt to check the battery power and ground connections at the battery and other places. A low battery voltage could cause the sensor to read wrong.
The ABS system resets itself every time the engine is stopped and Active Handling calibrates after every engine start. That is why you see the messages clear when you shut off the car.

Thank you very much. I appreciate the info. I have been having some battery problems lately too. If I don't drive it for a couple days it will run down. Don't know what's pulling it down though.
