Hey Cruisecontrol...thanks for that great post. Very interesting! Isn't your pic the same one BBS used for their first ad in the magazines? As bad as my memory is, I swear that is the very same pic I first saw for BBS. I'm very happy with my wheels. Have a little potato cleaner brush that is the perfect size for cleaning between all the spokes. Enjoyed your background info on BBS. :D
They do look good on black and navy blue vettes. But, quicksilver97 looks great too!!!

That is the picture BBS used in all of their print ads for the LM, they were the first after market wheel exclusively for the C5. Although BBS didn't give me the wheels (I did get them lower than my regular distributor price), they did give me a framed and matted blow up of the picture that I have here in my office.
Another interesting point about all the BBS wheels you see on race cars, including the C5R, Indy and F1, they don't "give" the wheels to those teams either.

Nearthelimit, thanks for the tire install recommendation. If you need BBS info on where to find a distributor for a certain type of wheel try calling BBS America in Atlanta. They have an 800 number (I left it at work, but it's on their website) and will be more than happy to hook you up with a local retailer if it's a C5 application wheel.
CruiseControl, your comments about BBS validate my decision to spend some hard earned cash. I spoke to BBS America last week and was surprised to find out that the wheels were made in Japan. Initially I was disappointed to hear that but then again the Japanese consistently score top marks in quality and reliability in most if not all automotive quality surveys.

Hi,
We use only BBS wheels on our Trans Am C5. (#28) We use a Magnesium center, on a 12" front and a 13" rear.
On my G-7 that was on the cover of GM High Tech Magazine, we had BBS 3 piece wheels, 9"X18 front and 11X18 rears. I just tubbed my car, so I am going to get a 1" wider inner rim, and turn my rears in to 12" wide.
We are a BBS dealer, so we can get you what ever wheel that you want, just give us a call if we can help.

We powdercoated the centers yellow. The advantage of the 3 piece wheel is that you can damage it and just replace the part that was damaged.
The G-7 had Mag centerd, but we can get you Forged Aluminum centers on the 3 piece as well as the LM wheel.
Also, we will have a new Forgeline "Forked" design soon.

I've always liked these wheels, and if you really think about it, the CCW wheel centers are very similar. If LG, from LG Motorsports is listening, can you provide a "ball park" price on the BBS's for a street C5 application?

I have HRE 547's there a three piece wheel on my 97. And Chrome Hickock "Full House" on my 2002, there a two piece wheel.
I usually get my tires R&R for around $60.00
CCW wheels are a very strong wheel designed for Autocross and race applications. Not the best looking wheel in my opinion.
